Have you ever felt like you’re in the right place, at the right time, and gotten the wrong result?
How about being in a relationship with the right person but throwing it down the drain?
If you can answer yes to these, you may be a victim of having a low EQ.
Don’t feel bad though. EQ is a learned behavior that you may have learned at a young age from your parents, grandparents or siblings, or you may just be learning now.
The trick to boosting your EQ is to understand first what it is, and how it can be the key to unlocking what’s been holidng you back.
3 steps to Check Your EQ score:
Use the following key:
- You frequently argue with your spouse/partner about differing values
- You find yourself commonly wishing you hadn’t said something in a social setting, that my cast you in a certain light that you don’t feel is how you really are.
- You feel like you’re an expert at tripping on yourself before you ever get to your goal.
Check your score.
If you scored 3 or less, you have an EXCELLENT EQ.
If you have 4-6 you may need some work on your EQ.
If you scored 7 or up, your EQ is really holding you back.
EQ is defined as your emotional intelligence, or your ability to act in capacity that serves both you and others at the same time. Mastering your EQ gives you the ability to not only get what you want most in life, but to help others get what they want in the process.
As a husband, father and entrepreneur, I hold a very high value on not just communicating effectively, but helping others to get what they want. Of course, if I can in the process get what I want, then it’s a win/win situation. And in the process, if we can achieve a unified goal, then it becomes a win3 situation.
